How much does it cost?

The first thing most people want to know is whether they can afford it. Making them sit through a sales call to find out wastes everyone's time.

The figures above are starting points. Once we understand the job, we give you one fixed price for the whole project before you commit to anything, and a website quote also comes with a free PoPIt Preview.

It comes free with every website quote: a first look at your new home page, the pages we would build and the search each one is for, a quick look at three local competitors, and one fixed price for your first year. To get one, send us a short brief or book a 30-minute call. You don't pay or sign anything for it, and if you don't go ahead, that's the end of it.

The price in your quote. For a website, it covers the design and build plus 12 months of SEO, support and standard hosting on AWS. A Shopify shop is hosted by Shopify, on a plan you pay them for. The only other costs go to other companies, such as your domain name, and your quote lists each one. If you're comparing quotes, ask every agency for the same first-year total.

For the first 12 months from launch, standard hosting on Amazon Web Services (AWS) is included. If your site needs more than standard hosting, such as a busy online shop, the extra cost is in your quote, and a Shopify shop is hosted by Shopify. After the 12 months you choose. We help you open an AWS account in your business name and move the site into it, and AWS then bills you directly. Or we keep managing it for you from £45 a month. You are never tied in.

No. You only pay when you're happy with what you've seen. The Preview is free. After that, you pay a third when you accept it, a third when you sign off the design and the last third when you're happy with the finished site and it goes live. Smaller projects are half when you accept the Preview and half at launch. We always agree it in writing first.

Most of the work happens while we build the site. Page titles, structured data, a sitemap and your Google listing are set up before launch, and that is part of the website price. After launch we keep working on it and send you a report each month. A site someone else built usually needs that groundwork done first, and the monthly fee covers it along with the ongoing work.

Project work is a one-off, and the first 12 months of SEO, hosting and support come with it. When that year is up, we help you move the site into an AWS account in your name, or keep hosting and supporting it from £45 a month, and SEO can carry on if you want it. Social media, ads and SEO for a site we did not build run month to month from the start. None of it has a minimum term, and either of us can stop with 30 days' notice.

We're a small team with no sales department and no account managers, so the people you talk to are the people doing the work. We also use AI for the donkey work, such as research, checking and testing every page, which leaves our time for the parts you're paying for: the ideas, the design and the words. People and AI working together gets you a better site, sooner.

Costs that go to other companies: domain registration, stock photos if you want them, premium plugins, ad spend and platform fees. A Shopify shop is hosted by Shopify, so its monthly plan is paid to Shopify. A site that needs more than standard hosting has that cost in the quote. All of these are listed separately in the quote.
